June12, 2017 :: Is there anyone out there that enjoys waiting?!? Not me and there are "waiting rooms" everywhere in our life.
Waiting for the doctor's call for the results of that test.
Waiting for Gods perfect guy/girl for you.
Waiting for the baby to get here.
Waiting for the acceptance letter for your choice college.
It has always been something that I have struggled with. Our family right now is in a waiting time. It is the time when your trust in the Lord's sovereignty is tested. It is when the "whys" start clouding your thoughts. (Can you hear the whining in that why?!?). But as I sit here waiting...one side of me wants to get anxious, to start worrying and fretting and make things happen myself while... the other side takes a deep breath, reminds myself that my God is sovereign, His promises are Yes and Amen, His timing is perfect and He has only my best interest in mind. He is my Heavenly Father!! He is my Jehovah Jireh (my provider). I choose not to let my mind run on it's own. I take every thought captive and I meditate on his goodness and His promises. I choose to "delight" in Him and His promise and with my "delight" is the promise He will give me the desires of my heart. (Psalm 37:4)
Are there any verses that can help us during our waiting?!? YES there are!!
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31
You see, the truth is when we think we are waiting on God...we are really rushing God!! He is the master of time...not us. His timing is perfect and right on time so when we "wait" we are really just joining God's timescale and when we do that, we are lined up with God. That is why Isaiah comes with such strong words of empowerment. They say, When we "wait"... we fly, we run without getting tired and we walk without fainting. So that means no anxiety, no high blood pressure, less gray hair and no heart attacks!!
So...today, I am choosing not to rush God. I will choose to trust Him and His timing. At least, I am fighting for that anyway. #iamstillhuman #ibelieveHispromises #myGodissovereign
